The concept behind her cloth art
is about taking the 2D painted
canvas and transforming it into
3D habitable skins. Clothing
shapes our private space within
our public places. Ms. Hoeksema
designs her fabric enclosures
from the inside-out, exposing
the edges and seams with an
honest integrity of construction.
The work is meant to be comfortable
habitable space and visually unique,
offering a sense of identity to
the people who wear it.
