Ms. Hoeksema was approached
by a horticulturist/ landscape
company owner to assist in composing
sedum combinations for a green
roof modular system he was developing.
A number of compositions were created
based on plant height, color, and
seasonal growth patterns. Currently
these combinations are planted on
a number of roofs throughout the
midwest with 10 new projects underway.
Provided the right opportunity, these
organic roofscapes can provide natural
functional advantages with limited
energy consumption.
