Designed as a viewing point
point along a lake front, Look
Out Pavilion is an open
air structure for communal
gathering in nature. The intended
site is a Lake Michigan dune on a
south inclining slope. The
pavilion is located between
the main house and the beach
along a walking path. The
viewing experience emphasizes
the line of the horizon. With
slatted louvers for star gazing
at night and shade during the
day, the pergola semi-enclosure
wraps as a textured fabric skin
from back to front.
