ARCHITECTURE

The client's desire for this project
is to shape a place for celebrating
the history of the Olympics, specifically
integrating the sport of tennis. The
project is slated to include an indoor/
outdoor tennis area above a parking area,
a cafe gallery for for exhibiting the
history of the Olympic games, and a single
family dwelling. The design inception
of the tennis enclosure utilzes tensile
strenth of fabric and steel and integrates
mesh systems. The area around the tennis
courts and above the parking is a garden
like sanctuary including a grass roof for
the cafe. The canopy is reconfigurable
and the design responds to a need for
having a 'shadow free' court area; the
courts oriented 22 degrees in response to
the sun azimuth.
