ARCHITECTURE
This project opportunity presented
what I call 'convenient challenges'.
The main functional opportunities
were with ample site area to design
around passive solar advantages. The
aesthetic inspiration came from my
historical visit to Frank Lloyd Wright's
Taliesin in Wisconsin for a family reunion.
Repetition of modules and use of stone
and wood with post and beam construction
are at the root of his architecture. The
difference with this project is the attention
paid to passive solar advantages for
natural environmental comfort, the client
insistant on natural air during all
seasons. We fit maximum programming
into a small affordable space with
ample privacy within the site and
from the main house.
